Looking at the lack of availability of Engineering seats for students of Delhi, the Government of Delhi started G.G.S.I.P. University. The university has about 15 Engineering Colleges affiliated to it and 85% of the seats (about 5,000) are reserved for the students of Delhi. The admission is done through an entrance exam which is objective type in nature and is held in third or last week of May every year.

Do we require coaching for these entrance examinations?

About three to four lakhs students appear for those entrance tests. The level of these examinations is well above the C.B.S.E. level. The student not only requires in depth knowledge of C.B.S.E. syllabus but also a number of topics other than it. Further the ratio of number of seats to the number of students competing for it is almost one is one is to sixty. The objective nature of most of the examinations makes it more difficult.
