| The Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) are the premier institutions in the field of engineering, technology and research. |

| There are in all seven IITs located at Kanpur, Delhi, Mumbai, Kharagpur, Chennai, Guwahati and Roorkee. All these institutions offer courses like B.Arch, Integrated M.Tech and M.Sc. The admission to all these courses is made through a Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The pattern of JEE has changed over the years. Now a day JEE consists of a mix of objective, subjective and paragraph question. The exam is conducted in the month of April every year. There are about 5000 seats for which about two and half lakh students compete every year. The competition is fierce. |
